PLACE
Fall in love with Sawrey House
There are only a few family run Bed & Breakfasts anywhere in the Lake District with such a beautiful setting as Sawrey House. Overlooking Esthwaite Water and with stunning views across to Grizedale Forest and the Coniston mountain range, our beautiful Victoria house is in a class of it’s own.
Originally built for a Vicar, our traditional country house retreat, set in 3 acres of sculpted gardens, is designed for lazy indolence. It is the quintessential English rural hideaway, built in the 1830’s with slate from the local quarry and is one of the prettiest buildings in the pristine conservation hamlet of Near Sawrey.

Sawrey House offers 11 well appointed bedrooms, including two four poster rooms, lake view and classic rooms too. Our lounge and bar are open between 9:30am – 7:00pm daily, and over-look our gardens and the lake beyond.
On clear days you can sit on our terrace and enjoy a cream tea or one of our fabulous wines while you take in the stunning views of this beautiful part of the Lake District. Feel free to idly explore our gardens, watch the rabbits play on the lawns or maybe indulge in a game of croquet or garden chess.
Free WiFi is available throughout.
